Jessica Carr

I was born and raised in Miami. After attending the University of Florida and getting my degree in Advertising and Psychology, I decided that wasn’t the life for me. My true passion lies in baking and pastry. I went back to school and studied at Johnson and Wales where I got my degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. 

Since then I’ve spent the last 10+ years working at numerous bakeries and cake shops, including becoming the lead cake decorator at Edda’s Cake design in Miami, Fl and  Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, MD. 

When my son was born we moved to Gainesville and I became a stay at home mom. After a short-lived hiatus I became anxious for a creative outlet and a way to use my talents again. I wanted to help people celebrate their lives through the thing I loved most…cake. That is when Torta was born.
